I am a day hiker and car camper mostly, and prefer to do more challenging 8-10 miles hikes in a day. I have backpacked, but need to get some "lighter" items. I work in the schools, so spring break/summer is an option for me.
I actually met up with some of the group at Springmill with Kelly about a month ago in Indiana. Nice rainy trip, but fun people. Kelly just let me know about this spring break trip. Interested.
Okay- I'm good with this. Yes I have read the Terms of Service and really appreciate your leadership.

I have been hiking longer distances since 2007 or so. Boy Scouts prior to this.

Oh, that is fine! I feel a little awkward too. I always remember what my mom would say and that is that everyone else feels the very same way; they just can hide it better. : )
Sheila- Is your daughters health still improving? Our hopes and prayers are with her.
That must have been nice seeing that bear... I like those pictures. Maybe we can get together for an adventure travel.
Hi Sheila! Now that I'm an organizer for TSK, look for some new and interesting things to do on the water. But first, I'm just catching my breath after a week of rigorous training for my summer job with CRC. There's more coming...really
:)
Hi Sheila. I'm a speech/language
pathologist too working in early intervention for the past 15 years in northern KY. I think I'll go on this hike.
I may not be as well, it all depends on several factors coming together. But if it works out, then it would be an awful waste of nine hours driving plus expense to not take advantage of the opportunity. Otherwise, looking for a relaxing weekend.
Possible kayaking on BSF - If the water conditions are good, meaning there's enough water, Liz, Elaine, and myself are planning to do a five mile section from Blue Heron to Yamacraw using a livery shuttle (about $10). Let me know your interest for what little planning will be necessary on this.
Sheila,
Lost your phone number when it got wet in a kitchen puddle. Are you going to paddlefest? Call me so we can carpool, if you'regoing.
Nancy
I'm going to work out on this hike with my full backpack rig in preparation for some summer trail stuff. Maybe this would be a decent time to break out your own rig.
Hi Sheila - the trial head for the Monroe Lake trip is actually in Monroe County. It is just SE of Bloomington.
