Introduction

Hi there! My name is Jennifer, and I moved up to KY from TX about a year ago to teach for the DOD as a special education teacher. Looking for fun ways to keep in shape while at the same time, meeting new people.

How did you hear about this group?

I did a search on Meetup for "Hiking groups." There are also a couple of people I know who are members.

What kind of hikes would you like to join us on? (backpacking, short and slow day hikes, fast and long day hikes, etc...)

Well, right now, I want to start out slow, but eventually, I would like to build my skills and endurance to be able to go on long day hikes, slow day hikes, and even try some backpacking.

Are you new to hiking or have you been hiking for a while now?

I am farily new. I have been on a guided hike in the Smokey Mountains, and will be going again in March with some students from my school. I also used to hike in San Antonio throughout various parks -- some were covered trails, some were not. Most were moderate hikes -- not too slow, but not extremely fast paced either. I haven't been hiking since October, so I need to start out slow again.
