  • John, I'm only going on Saturday hike at Red River Gorge. Tried to remove my RSVP and couldn't.

  • hey john. Double arches was a great experience. I was the 40th person to sign up for the 11/11/11 weekend. Just making sure there is room for me.

  • Hey John. Destiny and I discussed Leconte on our backpacking trip this past weekend. If you think it's feasible to make it a 2 day trip sometime and using Leconte amnenities I would be interested in going back with a group. Just throwing it out there :)

  • Thanks John,

I have told my daughter about it and she is just as excited. I will need your assistance on how to pack for different events, if you don't mind. I have a lot to learn.

I have not signed up for anything yet, but will soon.

    Thanks,

    Felicia

  • Leconte is amazing! Really worth the trip. It's been quite a few years since I've been. I went all the way up and back down in a day so about 12-13 miles total. The temperature dropped dramatically as we ascended. If I did it again I think I would stay overnight at the top in the cabins and utilize the resources they offer! Definately a great hike!

  • My apologies, I thought I had "unsigned" for that one. Been a bit hectic lately--found out I'm shipping back to NZ post-haste. Two weeks left to my life in the US.

  • You did a great job as a guide John. I didn't think anything in this region could have topped my Mt. Leconte hike in TN but Indian staircase and Cloudsplitter really blew me away! Hiking and getting to the top of Cloudsplitter was a great feeling of self accomplishment and you as a guide/organizer help with that! Thanks!

  • Ok, then John,, I trust what you are telling me. Yes, I am not up to the strenuous ones yet, but maybe will get to one of these days, thanks for telling me.

  • John, I have looked at all the hikes & cant find Red River Gorge one, I have to cancel this one, but hope to make it in the future if it is offered. I will still look for it, to cancel but it doesnt show when I pull up upcoming hikes for some reason, thanks.

  • John:

I'd love to do this and have RSVP'd yes, but if you think this is too strenuous for me, I'll defer to your better instincts. I'm in no better shape than the last time we hiked, but the call of BSF motivated me!!
